Here's a list of frequently asked questions. I've attached the question and the answer but if you've got a question that's not on here, feel free to e-mail me for an answer. If I get enough of the same one, I'll add it.

As a general sidenote, questions regarding ad space and link trading are at the bottom.

What is a modded XBOX?

A: The short answer is that a modded XBOX is technically an XBOX that has been modified beyond Microsoft's Standard Package. This can include custom controllers, face plates, case, larger harddrives, and even lights.

More specifically, however, the term Modded XBOX generally refers to installing an additional chip or harddrive into a basic XBOX. By installing this chip your circumvent the XBOX motherboards onboard BIOS, allowing you to take full advantage of the hardware. Circumventing this allows you to run source code for many applications, you can run Linux OS, backup games you own, and run many types of applications which excellent coders around the XBOX community continually develop.

How do I get started?

Well, you've come to the right place. I can modify your XBOX case and controllers, LED lights, and even install a larger harddrive or the Mod chip that will allow you to bypass your XBOX BIOS, making it possible to run Linux OS, backup games you own, and run other types of applications.

Do I need to buy you anything?

Generally, no. I have all the paints, LED lights, and ability to get ahold of harddrives and Mod Chips. You may want to buy the chip yourself if you're wanting to save money (I charge 10% more if I have to go get the chip or harddrive and require the money for the component to be paid before the work is completed). You can also send different color LED lights you want me to use, though there is no change in cost for that.

How long does it normally take?

I try to be as quick and professional as possible. For items that are already finished, I get them in the mail as soon as payment is received. With custom modifications, a lot of it depends on how much work you're wanting finished and how many orders I have. For example, around holidays I'm swamped. It's best to get those orders in early and hope for the best. Generally I give priority to orders that have been ordered first. With that said, most orders are completed and ship back within 2 weeks.

How much does shipping cost?

A lot of that depends on you. It really doesn't matter to me whether something is mailed by UPS, FedEX, or somebody else. You pay for shipping and so you can choose the best method for your wallet and schedule.

How do I pay you?

I do not ask for money until the service is complete (unless a harddrive or Mod chip needs to be purchased and then the cost + 10% needs to be paid before work will be completed). I have had some customers send me Paypal or a check with their units, which is fine. Checks will have to clear before your completed XBOX is returned to ensure payment. I also have a Paypal account which allows you to pay via credit card or some other means of electronic transfer if you so desire, probably the easiest method of payment. I am negotiable and give discounts for larger orders and referrals. Email me and we'll work it out.

How do I know I can trust you?

I have been asked this question a few times. All I can say is that I am a small shop and do this mostly for fun and some extra cash. It doesn't pay my bills, it is more of a hobby for me. You could say I am a Mom & Pop mod installer. Most of my customers are referrals from previous customers, not ones who found my site listed. They tell me that they love my service, and quick responses to their questions. I'll do everything I can to make sure you are satisfied with your modifications. Besides, I give you my home address so it's not gonna be that hard to find me.

Can I play XBOX Live with a modded XBOX?

Yes and No. For basic modifications (LED lights and Controller/Case customizations), this isn't a problem. I've gone to several HALO 2 Tournaments with my modded XBOX and recieved compliments as a result of it. For hard drives and mod chips it gets a little tricky, but it is possible.

Your mod will need to be disabled in order for you to play on XBLive. This function is built into the software to allow you to disable your modchip using a Chameleon or OzXodus Modchip. But by doing so, you cannot load the game up from your hard drive, you will require your original game to do this. If you have a home network with internet connectivity you can use XBConnect to play live with your modded XBOX. Go to Google.com to find out more about XBConnect if you so desire.

In order to play XBOX Live, you will be required to lock your hard drive. Then you will place your original game CD within the DVD tray. When your game begins to load, after the XBOX screen, you will need to eject your CD. This will disable your modchip. You can check by looking at the left side of your XBOX to see the internal LED (light emitting diode) is red. If it is green, then your modchip is still active.

WARNING!!! If you attempt to play XBOX Live with your modchip enabled, you will be banned, and require bios modification to become un-banned. I suggest if you already have already connected to XBOX Live, that you save your settings to a memory card which installs into your controller in the event of a problem. If not I will import your settings from your original hard drive, so it should all be good.

Does any of this void my warranty?

Unfortunately, the answer is yes. A brand new XBOX only comes with a 3-month warranty. After that warranty expires, Microsoft will charge you a minimum of $100 to repair your box. In order to to modify your XBOX, I will need to open your XBOX. Simply opening your XBOX voids your warranty. Use your own judgment, but the truth is, if your XBOX is more than 3 months old, your original manufacturer's warranty has already expired. Also, the warranty does not cover your controllers so if you're worried about the warranty (which only lasts 3 months), feel free to get those modified until your existing warranty runs out.

How does this ad rental work?

At the top of every one of my pages is ad space. If you are interested in renting the space for your own website (it doesn't have to be a business, it can be a personal site but no pornographic links), the cost is $5.00 a week (7 days). If you purchase the ad space for a month, the cost is $15.00 (months are defined as 30 days).

The same banner must be used the entire duration of the ad time. Banners must be 468 pixels by 60 pixels. Animated banners are fine. If you provide me with your banner and website address, I'll take care of the rest. Payment for the ad space must be received prior to being put up. If you don't have a banner but want me to make you one, I'll create a static one (no animation) for an additional $5.00.

How does this link trade work?

On my links page, I will put up your link if you put mine on your webpage. You must provide me with the website address you wish to put my link on and I will either approve or disapprove permission to link with me. Again, no pornographic links are acceptable. If you are interested in trading comparable ad space, I'm sure we can work something out.

Do you build websites?

Yes, I can build websites for personal or professional use. Rates vary depending on complexity and time frames but e-mail me if you're interested.
